This software
is the current production software for MapSource as of 01/10/2000
and includes the following changes since version 2.03.
Changes between
version 3.02 and 3.03 include the following:
- Fixed a
problem with the Swiss and West Malaysian grids that produced
incorrect lat/lon values.
- Fixed a
problem with importing PCX5 files containing trackpoints or
waypoints with altitudes.
- Fixed a
problem with importing PCX5 files containing incorrectly formatted
times.
- Fixed a
problem with occasional errors when printing to a color printer.
- Fixed a
problem that caused MapSource to fail when unrecognized symbols
were received from a unit.
- Improved
Auto Detect feature to detect older units more quickly.
- Modified
to report additional information when receiving an invalid display
option from the unit.
- Improved
map drawing times slightly.
- Fixed a
problem that sometimes caused the TDB_PRODUCT.CPP-126-3.02 error
message to occur.

- Changed
software version number from 3.00 to 3.01.
- Fixed a
problem that prevented MapSource from running on older versions
of Windows 95.
Changes between
version 2.03 and 3.00 include the following:
- Added
capability to transfer waypoints, routes, and tracks to and
from the GPS.
- Added capability
to edit waypoints and routes both graphically and textually.
- Added capability
to inspect track data textually.
- Added capability
to print the map view.
- Added Auto
Detect capability to automatically find the correct communications
port.
- Improved
serial-port communication code to eliminate occasional problems
on Windows 95 machines.
- Added "No
Map" option to allow viewing of waypoints, routes, and
tracks against a bare background (with reference grid).
- Changed
startup sequence to allow MapSource to continue running even
if the most-recently used CD-ROM is unavailable (turns off "GPS
Map Detail" or goes to "No Map" as appropriate).
- Added "Undo"
function.
- Added information
boxes that pop up when the user hovers the mouse over a map
feature.
- Added capability
for the user to choose the name of the map set as displayed
by the GPS power-on screen.
- Added capability
to import PCX5 v2.09 files.
- Added capability
to export documents to tab-delimited text format.
- Added continuous-world
scrolling to allow a smooth map transition at the anti-meridian.
- Added preference
settings for Distance/Speed, Heading, Altitude, Position Format,
and Map Datum.
- Changed
toolbars to be docking-type toolbars.
- Added capability
to choose Region and Zoom scale directly from the View menu
(in case the required toolbar is hidden).
- Added
capability to turn off the status bar.
- Space bar
no longer aborts a transfer in progress.
- Added proximity
waypoint support, including red-circle on graphical map.
- Moved Find
City to the View menu.
- Added the
following tools: "Selection," "Waypoint,"
"Route," and "Distance/Bearing."
- Changed
the name of the "Add/Remove Map" tool to "Map."
- Added Product
Info button on the About Box to allow the user to see the data
version of each installed product.

and monitor; mouse or other pointing device.

| Instructions
for uploading the new software to your unit: |
- Download the MapSource
update file into a directory on your hard drive. (i.e., c:\garmin).
- Change to the directory
in which you downloaded the files, (i.e., c:\garmin), and run the executable
file (.exe). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update
your MapSource installation.
