The Davis Instruments Wireless Weather Envoy or it's cabled version allows you to receive and store data from a Vantage Pro2 integrated sensor suite and post it to your computer, no console required. The 6316 Wireless Weather Envoy or cabled model are used in conjunction with the Vantage Pro2 WeatherLink software/data logger and allows you to collect and store data from the outdoor sensors. You can then download the data to your computer at your convenience, then use the WeatherLink software to view current conditions, graph and chart historical data, or even create your own weather web pages. This setup will also allow you to view current conditions, real time on your PC.
It includes its own barometer and inside temperature and humidity sensors. Both the wireless and cabled versions include an AC power adapter. Either may also be run using a Davis Instruments 6450 solar power kit. The wireless model may also be run using three AA batteries. Batteries will last up to six months depending on the logging interval. Batteries should also be added to the cabled model for backup during power outages.

With wireless installations, you can use the Envoy in addition to a Vantage Pro2 console. Put the console in the kitchen or bedroom, and the Weather Envoy in your office or study next to your computer.
**Please note that the Davis Weather 6316 or 6316c are not compatible with the original Vantage Pro (Vantage Pro "1"). They will only work with the Vantage Pro2 line of products.
