"Australian crew hauls in winning marlin"

The Channel 10 Billfish Shootout 2000 took place in Port Stephens Australia, March 11-13, 2000. This is a premier marlin contest Ñ top crews from all over Australia fish this one. Biggest fish wins.

As my crew and I headed wide to the offshore canyons about 40 nm, our non-GARMIN chartplotter went out, leaving us without our navigation aids. I went to my briefcase and pulled out my trusty GPS12XL and entered coordinates from scraps of paper we had used the previous season. We worked the marks all day and caught the winning fish, a big blue marlin. We successfully fished the rest of the competition using the GPS12XL and took out top crew and champion angler. Some of the prize money will buy us a new GARMIN chartplotter. Thanks for a great product.
